Buffalo Wings {Hobbies}

Another one of my hobbies is eating buffalo wings. I LOVE them to pieces. I'd eat them for every meal if I could.  Yummy!

Snow {Hobbies}

I was out in the yard today with my 100mm macro. This is just the snow in the yard with the sun shining on it. It looks so beautiful up close. But it sure has made a mess of the roads and trees around here.

Icicles {Hobbies}

Here are some lovely icicles from one of the trees in the front of the house.  It's not a true macro shot as it was a bit too cold for my fingers.  I couldn't find my gloves to stay out longer. And if you haven't guessed it yet my main hobby is photography.

Ice Tree {Hobbies}

This is one of our trees off the back patio.  I think this tree is yearning for spring.  I love photographing the different seasons.  Although I don't like the cold and driving in it.  Before we know it spring will be here.

Holly Bush {Hobbies}

As many of you know my main hobby right now is photography.  There are so many things to photograph.  It's just great when you really look at things to see if they would work in a photograph.  You start to view the world through a camera lens.  You pick out details of things that you would have looked over before.

Ellie's Toes {Hobbies}

I was away visiting this weekend. I got to do my first maternity of my new friend Nancy which I'm working on editing those photos now. These precious little toes belong to her almost 3 year old daughter Ellie. I love photographing little toes. And found that this photo is awesome in B&W.

Studebaker Factory ~ South Bend, Indiana {Technology}

I did an extra day of last weeks theme Technology.  I'm really into historic buildings and this was one I came across this past weekend.  It is one of the few remaining buildings from The Studebaker Car Factories.

Here is more history on Studebaker.

Train Car {Technology}

This train car is located at the Monon Railroad Museum in Monon Indiana.  Hopefully in the spring I can get back up there to get more photos of the neat railroad pieces they have.  I'm a big fan of trains and love photographing them.  Thought it looked really neat in B&W.

Well, Friday through Sunday I did not have internet access due to being away.  I've got photos to post to catch up on my blog.  Here is a Monon Caboose in Monon Indiana.  It is on a short track as it is no longer in use.

Flash from the Past 2 {Technology}

Here is the other flash I found at a thrift store awhile back.  These 2 lights are definitely a flash from the past.  Thought I'd turn this one B&W to really show off the age of the light.

Flash from the Past {Technology}

I'm not sure how old this flash unit is.  But I found it along with a small single light at the thrift store awhile back.  Total for both pieces (other light not in photo) $7.49 including tax.  It's definitely a flash into the past for photographers.

Today I spent allot of time with Eliana. This meaning I didn't get the camera out to take any photographs. Taken at the hospital in Eliana's room while she was in surgery. I did some minor PPing to this photo.

Carpet #2 No Mat & Tractor {Texture & Technology}

Eliana's eye surgery is tomorrow and we have to be at the hospital at 6:30am.  Keep her in your thoughts and prayers.  I'll be offline probably 2-3 days depending on her recovery at home.

Since some of you wanted to see the carpet without the mat I took a photo of it. This is the carpet in the mid 70's Kitchen. And Liz you made me laugh reading your comment last night.

And starting this week's new theme Technology I went out to the barn. Here is one of the tractor's in the barn. The landlord's really old tractors are stored across the street. Didn't get a chance to ask him yet if I could take a photograph of one of them. And I just felt this one needed to be B&W.

Carpet #2 {Texture}

Ah well my house is full of interesting flash backs of the 70's.  Tonight I went back to the kitchen this time to get the carpet.  This is a section in front of the stove and is covered with a plastic mat to protect the carpet.  If you ask nicely I might post the carpet area without the plastic mat.  This way you can get the true carpet experience.  LOL

Lacey Curtain {Texture}

While eating dinner I was thinking of what I could take a photo of today. While the curtain is old it's pretty lacey and neat. And to make it a bit dramatic I turned it B&W. This curtain is on one of the windows in the kitchen. The curtains came with the house.

Cabinet Door {Texture}

Today and tomorrow are colder then it has been. So, again not venturing outside for photos. I wandered into my kitchen and thought this would make a neat texture. Like I stated in a previous post the mid 70's was the last time this house was updated. The is the front of a door on one of the kitchen cabinets. They do not all have doors like this.

It's still too cold to go outside and photograph.  So, I found this lamp shade I have.  Nothing spectacular but would make a neat texture.  If you are a photographer and are interested in using this as a texture just leave me your email. I'll then send you the full res. file.

After yesterday's orange carpet I was thinking what else I could snap a photo of inside. It's pretty cold to venture outside today. This is the ceiling in the living room. Orange Carpet {Texture}

Ah yes we are renting and old 1916 farm house in the country. Well kinda the country we live on a busy county road. It has had some updating but that was in the mid 70's. Every room has a different color carpet. The living room has some pretty interesting orange carpet. It's a bit brighter then in the photo just loved the exposure on this one. If you are a photographer and are interested in using this as a texture just leave me your email. I'll then send you the full res. file. I've also got to catch up on posting photos. I'll back post the 4 days of photos I'm missing.

Start...Ready, Set, {Sprinkle of Snow} The First of Many?

On the radio yesterday they said that winter in Southern Indiana is most likely over.  We are going to have above average moisture and temps.  And here is our first sprinkle of snow.  You can still see the grass through the snow.  In the side and front yard you can see more grass then in the backyard in this photo.  Can't wait to see how long it sticks around and if we get anymore.

*** ETA *** A few hours later the snow was gone.

Start...Ready, Set, {Stop ~ Redo} said the Photographer

Today I was trying to get a good photo of Eliana for her Valentine's cards.  Needless to say it's an off day for me.  I think the rain was affecting me more then I thought.  My creativeness went out the window today.  I'll give it another try for a photo of Eliana.  This photo is one of many from this afternoon.  All you get for now is one.

Classic Eliana

Seems I'm on the wrong theme for this week with my post below.  9 out of 10 times this is the look I get from Eliana when I want to take her photograph.  I really wanted to do this one in color but I'm still working on editing it.  I hit the wrong button on my flash when I took it so I'm trying to correct it.

This year I'm going to do more with Eliana.  She got her first digital camera for Christmas.  It'll be a great hobby we both can enjoy without her trying to steal my camera.  It's still so hard to believe she is 4 years old.  Where has the time gone?

Driving the countryside you come across allot of little old cemeteries.  I'm not sure I like the texture on this one.  I played with it for an hour and this is the one I liked the best.

1906 Tunnel

This tunnel is hidden down off the road beyond a guard rail.  Unless you are looking down you will miss it.  Above it is a railroad track that runs alone this roadway.  You can see the rocks at the top where the trees thin out.  What do you think this tunnel was used for?  It's very interesting that's for sure.
