Piggy & Vase {Ways to Save}

I'm trying to think outside the box for this week's theme. And it's getting hard. I have no idea what I'm going to do for the rest of the week. I thought I'd share two photos for today.

Batteries {Ways to Save}

This week's theme is "Ways to Save". I'm still trying to think of things to photograph for the remaining 6 days for this theme. I did however come up with this for today. These days most things take batteries of some sort. And to reduce the whole in the bank a bit I buy rechargeable batteries. I use them for my computer mouse, and my camera flash to name a couple things off the top of my head.

Silly {Emotions}

It took me awhile to capture Silly. As Eliana said she didn't know how to do silly. I had to show her faces and then she mimicked me. It was interesting to say the least. LOL She has a ton of silly faces but wouldn't do them for me. So this is what I got for today.

Pouty {Emotions}

This has been an interesting theme this week to say the least. And I'm sure those of us with kids have seen them all. Today of course was Pouty. Eliana does another pouty look but this is the one I got for today.

Laughter {Emotions}

Laughter is a good emotion. Definitely makes you laugh when you see someone else laugh. Although it's very hard to photograph without it looking goofy. It was hard getting Eliana to laugh let alone photograph her laughing. Of course her best laughing she did while I put the camera down or my flash was recycling. But this is one of the better ones I got of Eliana today.

Upset (Emotions}

Eliana was just getting ready to wipe the last tear out of her eye when I caught this photo. She was not happy it was time to go home. She wanted to continue playing at the park. I on the other hand wanted to go home. I actually think I have a fever and hope I'm not coming down with something. This photo is SOOC. I had no clue how to make the crop better. If you have one let me know.

Timid {Emotions}

Once again another side of Eliana I see quite often. She tends to do this allot especially around other people. Even those she knows. Boy does she ever take after me allot. I guess the saying like mother like daughter is true for us. And Yes their is a distracting cord in the background but realized it after I took the shot. And of course Eliana was done with photos. If anyone wants to clone it out for me that would be great. I'd like to print this week's photos for Eliana as a keepsake. And she couldn't even wait for me to blow dry her hair. SHe as willing to do photos but real quick. This is a definite improvement of throwing a cow over taking photos for me. I'll take what I can get.

Skeptical {Emotions}

Earlier today Eliana had a meltdown about cleaning up her toys. After 20 minutes of throwing a tantrum she finally calmed down. But as you can see in this photo she was very skeptical about taking it for me. In the color version she is all red in the face. I thought I'd turn it B&W since Eliana is definitely a drama queen today.

Happy {Emotions}

This week's theme is Emotions. I'm hoping to come up with some neat photos for this theme. And we all know children can have a hundred emotions in 60 seconds or less. Sometimes they make you aaww and sometimes they make you cry. I thought I'd start this week off with a photo to make you smile.

Dry Hydrant {Safety/Risk}

Out by the pond is this dry hydrant. The fire department uses it to get water out of the pond to fight a fire. Last summer one Sunday morning a fire truck was in the driveway pumping water from the pond. Their was no fire but no clue what they were using the water for. But it did fill up the truck some.

Eliana's Toes {Safety/Risk}

Cutting Eliana's finger nails let alone with her toes nails is a big thing around our house. Not sure but she always whines and tries to move my hand away when I cut them. And once in awhile she jerks her foot while I'm cutting. Low and behold this happened today. So, of course I clipped her skin around the nail and now she is wounded. First thing she says is mommy it's bleeding really bad and I need a little bandaid. I turned the photo black and white so you could sense the drama it brought for Eliana.

Orange Cone {Safety/Risk}

Orange cones you get to see them in town when they are working on a small section or repairing a road or water main break. At least around here in the small countryside. You seem them in parking lots when they are re-blacktopping {is that a word?}. They have many more uses. For now this one along with a couple others sit in the basement. And as you can see it has been run over. So even safety cones are missed.

At first I thought this week's theme was going to be hard. And I sat and gave it some thought. Here is what I came up with for today's photo. The patio is actually that color. It used to be painted blue and green at one point or another. I used Pioneer Woman's Lovely & Etheral action on this photo.

Spike Flower & Cookie {Macro}

Today was a beautiful day and didn't want to spend it inside. We spent most of the day outside today. It got up to about 64 degrees. It was a nice spring day. At church today we had a luncheon to celebrate those in the Armed Forces. We had cookies with the meal they were serving. And of course I had to get a photo of it. I also got a photo of this beautiful reddish flower but I have no idea what the name of it is. Maybe Pat knows the name of it.

Rose Bush & Cherry Blossom {Macro}

Eliana and I were out watching Nola (puppy) play, run and try to get Duck in the pond. I walked over to the rose bush to see if it was starting to bloom yet. Their are many things coming up in the yard. Also, went to Rural King to get some puppy food for Nola. And of course they have flowers and etc there too. I came across some Cherry Blossoms.

Marbles {Macro}

Today I spent the day with Eliana. Also, went to the hospital with a friend. This hospital had a great ped's wing. Their were painted murals on the walls. A huge train set on the top of the wall. They also had a huge kids play room. On the outside of the room were these different squares and triangles filled with marbles. This was just one small section of a square.

Mini Coaches {Macro}

Today was Eliana's field trip to the local county museum. I went along as it's been a few years since I've been. In one room they have a huge train display set up. Tons and tons of trains. The kids really enjoyed this. At least 1/2 the train cars were going so it was hard to find a section to photograph that was still and not moving.

Diced Tomatoes {A Few of My Favorite Things}

I've always loved tomatoes and anyone ho knows me knows this. But I do not like cutting up tomatoes. Thus the love of diced tomatoes has come along. Right now there are 4 cans in the pantry. Shot this with my Canon 85mm 1.8.

Nola {A Few of My Favorite Things}

Nola is now 5 1/2 months old. She is such a good puppy and funny at that. Around the duck pond is a fence as you can see it part of this photo. Nola's new thing is to run all around it trying to get at Duck (that's what Eliana named the duck). Today she started to do the same thing but had her eye on the water. She found a spot to stick her head under the fence. Then got all the way under the fence and into the pond. Nola drank some water then looked at me like "mommy help me get out of her". She had that look of worry like she was stuck. It was cute to see. Nola is very hard to photograph as she always wants to either jump up to get the camera or lick the lens if I kneel down. Today I got one of her not a good one but decent nonetheless. Shot this with my Canon 85mm 1.8.

Nuggets {A Few of My Favorite Things}

I'm not a big nugget fan except for McDonald's Nuggets. Just don't know what it is but I could probably eat these everyday. Eliana had left for the weekend to go visit with David. :-) Who she loves to pieces. I had a friend drop in and take me to get some nuggets. They taste real good with the buffalo sauce McD's has. They did make me feel a bit better but still feeling blah. Took this with my Canon 85mm 1.8

Budding Tree {A Few of My Favorite Things}

This is one of the trees near the back porch of the house. Another nice day outside today and I'm glad I ventured out. It was in the mid 60's or so today. But it was very windy. I had a hard time walking to get back into the house. Another sign of spring and the warm weather to come. One of my favorite things is warm weather.

It was a decent day outside today. I'm not sure what kind of flower/plant this is as I did not plant it. Maybe Pat can help me out on this one. It was quite windy out so my focus is off a bit. One of my favorite things is signs of spring which means the warm weather is coming.

Info Book {A Few of My Favorite Things}

Last month Black River Imaging offered Free 8x8 Press Books. So of course on the last day I designed one and ordered it. I'm using it as a info book for my photography business. It has all my pricing and policies in it. Plus 10 photos of my work. The photos show a variety of my work. It turned out really great. BRI Thank you! I also picked 7 different size photos and products from BRI and compared them to WHCC. And BRI is cheaper on each of those 7 items. I just took a photo of the cover. This is one of my new photography favorites.

Old Garage {Before & After}

I'm sure at one time this was a service garage that use to be open for operation. And now it's more then likely used for storage or maybe even empty. It has not been a service garage in a long while by the looks of the grass growing out front. And don't mine the blown out sky. My intention was to crop the photo to show the building only.
